Debates and Global Test

Round one is over. Main point for me was Kerry saying he would defend us if the cause passed Global Test?????? Like I have said before, Kerry believes to much in what the world thinks. I want a President who stands up to the world, who will strike first, not wait to be hit first, and hope for passing a GLOBAL TEST?????
I listen to Kerry repeat " I have a plan" yet I did not hear it. A summit?? Yep! thats what will do it!
Ask for more help? yep,,lets beg. There was no plan outlined.
Kerry said he made a mistake about how he talked about the war, no, his mistake was not voting for funding the war.
Bush was clear and to the point. Kerry flipped and flopped and tried to convince people he was anti war. One great thing about Kerry is he is not boring, you never know which John will show up, or what he will support or say.
Key point: At the beginning of the debate Kerry made clear Saddam was not a threat. At the end of the debate Kerry said Saddam was a threat. Flip Flop. In one and a half hours he could not stand firm. Weak!
Kerry also avoided his plan for the War on Terrorism. Bush gave his plan, detailed. Kerry plans on the world to help, yeah right. If Kerry can not hold his story for the hour and a half debate, what would he do under real pressure? I dont want to find out. 4 More Years!

Bush interview part 3

The last part of the Bush interview was intriguing. He answered the class room question on 9/11. I respect his actions on that day and most do. Yet, there are some who would have liked to see him jump up and run out of the school to take action instead of collecting his thoughts for a few minutes. When asked about his faith and decision making he replied “It’s an important part of my life. I don't see how you can divorce religion and how you live your life. I mean -- I, they're -- if faith is an important part of your life it’s ingrained in your soul, and ingrained in your being. And I make decisions based upon what’s best for this country. And I pray for wisdom, I pray for strength, I pray for others who are in harm’s way. I pray for the soldiers, I pray for their families. And I make decisions -- I make decisions about earthly matters, I make decisions about how to get out of recession, or how to improve education, or how to spread the peace-- and that's what I believe we’re doing is spreading the peace.” When asked what he wants people to know about him, he said “well I hope they know I’ve got a great sense of humor and laugh-- I hope they know that I’m totally dedicated to my family, that I love my wife and my daughters are just -- mean more to me than anything. I hope they know that I weep when they weep, and I laugh when they laugh, that I take great joy in, you know”…
O’REILLY: You love the job?
BUSH: “I do, I really enjoy it a lot.”
For those of you who are waiting to bash him on the faith issue and decision making I will use one of my favorite quotes from perhaps the greatest American. From George Washington’s farewell address.

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice ? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

Watch the debates!

Draft

With this talk of a draft if Bush is relected, this comes to my mind. Kerry wants to add two complete divisions to the Army, and we are short on troops now, where are these divisions going to come from? Just a thought.

Bush interview part 2

Part 2 of the Bush interview was great. He talked about the tax cuts:
O’REILLY: But I’m rich and I’m getting a tax cut from you. Tax cuts for the rich, what do you think when you hear that?
BUSH:: I think that — if you're going to have tax cuts, everybody who pays taxes ought to get relief. I think…
O’REILLY: Even the rich bad guys like me?
BUSH:: I think that — I think thirty-five percent is enough for anybody to pay in federal taxes. I also know that when you're talking about tax, taxing the rich, really what you're talking about is taxing many small business owners. Ninety percent of the small business owners are sub-chapter S corporations, or limited partnerships. They pay tax at the individual income tax rate, and so when you hear the politicians saying tax the rich, you're talking about taxing job creators as well.
O’REILLY: And entrepreneurs like me.
BUSH: Entrepreneurs like you. I think raising taxes would be a mistake, and my opponent’s going to raise taxes.

I have said all along that taxing the rich does not pay off. If I am a small business owner and you raise my tax rate, who pays, me? Nope. I just raise the price of my product or service, lay off an employee, take away a paid vacation day, and work the rest of my employees harder. 35% is enough. We should not increase taxes on this countries achievers!

Bush gave the status quo answer on his Guard service. I don’t think America cares about that anyway. He answered every question decisively. I was impressed.

Quote of The Day! Bill Maher on Hardball said when asked “ what does Bush have to do to be more decisive than Kerry at the debates?”
Bill answered “Show up, breathe, exist.”
Love that answer!!

Tuesday, September 28, 2004

My friend Brian posted something interesting on his blog today. Bushes hometown paper does not support him, even though the state of Texas is clearly for him. This makes me wonder why this happens so often. Gore and TN, Clinton and Arkansas. The news papers there bashed their home boys. Gore lost to Bush 47% to 51% in his home state. Wierd.
Today Move on dot org published a piece in the NY Times bashing the Gallup Polls. There was no questioning of the polls when Kerry was ahead. Now all the polls are showing Bush ahead so Move on cries foul! And what group does the Move On bunch blame? Christians. Whoda thunk? Thats right, its them Christians!
Tonight on The Factor Donald Trump said the Bush tax cuts are great for the economy, now and in the future. I really did not need him to tell me that.
The Bush interview tonight was as expected, great! I will write about it when I get the transcript.

Bush enters No Spin Zone

Watching President Bush on the O’Reilly Factor last night solidified my belief that he is a strong leader. The President was not aware of the questions to be asked and fielded them with conviction and style(Full transcript here) . O’Reilly said he had full freedom in the scope of questioning and that should impress everyone. Most politicians are to scared to enter the no spin zone, especially Ted Kennedy and company. Bush acknowleges that there are problems in Iraq, as there would be with any leader. But we must carry on. I would love to see Kerry take on the no spin zone, but that is very doubtful. Kerry has talked his way into a quagmire. Anything he say's is a contradiction of what he said just weeks or days before. Whether you like Bush or not, he is firm leader and a patriot. He say’s what he believes and stands by it; not caring what other leaders or the polls say. He is a war time president. If you have not read Kerry's book American Soldier, you should. You will see why he is Unfit for Command. I look forward to part 2 of the interview tonight.

Kerry Debates Himself

Top News Article Reuters.com

"SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (Reuters) - President Bush said on Monday his Democratic rival John Kerry had shifted his positions on Iraq so many times he could "debate himself" at the prime-time face-off between the two candidates in three days."

Kerry will have a tough time convincing people of where he stands on the issues because for the past 20 years he has stood everywhere!

Kerry and Healthcare, Social Security

Kerry has complained publicly about the recent hike in Medicare. He shouldn’t, since he voted to raise Medicare premiums 5 times. Now he has the gall to complain about the rate hike. A few other facts people on fixed incomes should know.
Voted twice to increase income taxes on Social Security benefits for seniors earning as little as $34,000. (H.R. 2264, CQ Vote #190: Passed 50-49: R 0-43; D 49-6, With Vice President Al Gore Casting The Tie-Breaking Vote, 6/25/93, Kerry Voted Yea; H.R. 2264, CQ Vote #247: Adopted 51-50: R 0-44; D 50-6,
With Vice President Al Gore Casting The Tie-Breaking Vote, 8/6/93, Kerry Voted Yea)
Voted three times to keep the Social Security tax hike in the budget.
(S.Con.Res. 18, CQ Vote #57: Motion Agreed To 52-47: R 0-43; D 52-4, 3/24/93, Kerry Voted Yea; S.Con.Res. 18, CQ Vote #59: Motion Agreed To 55-44: R 0-43; D 55-1, 3/24/93, Kerry Voted Yea; S. 1134, CQ Vote #169: Motion Agreed To 51-46: R 1-41; D 50-5, 6/24/93, Kerry Voted Yea)
Voted three times against repealing the 1993 tax increase on Social Security Benefits. In 1996, the Senate Republican Policy Committee estimated repealing this tax would save seniors $33 billion. (S. Con. Res. 57, CQ Vote #142: Adopted 50-48: R 49-4; D 1-44, 5/22/96, Kerry Voted Nay; H.R. 8, CQ Vote #188: Adopted 58-41: R 54-1; D 4-40, 7/13/00, Kerry Voted Nay; S. Con. Res. 23, CQ Vote #94: Rejected 48-51: R 48-3; D 0-47; I 0-1, 3/25/03, Kerry Voted Nay; Senate Republican Policy Committee, “Budget Resolution/Repeal Of The 1993 Social Security Tax,” 5/22/96)

Listen to what he has to say now. Does he really think seniors have forgotten? My parents haven’t! and neither should yours.

Allawi and Kerry

The Prime minister of Iraq, Ayad Allawi spoke today at a joint meeting of congress. He thanked the Americans and reported his view of the situation. Then Allawi and President Bush held a press conference in the rose garden at the white house. I believe Allawi is a honest man and wants for his country what the majority of the Iraqi people want. Enter John Kerry. He in a few words makes Allawi out to be a liar, in bed with our President, and painting a picture of Iraq that is favorable to Bush. Allawi said we could hold elections tomorrow. It is disgraceful for Kerry to accuse this man (Allawi) of lying about his homeland. Is this how he will make allies with the rest of the world? This sickens me to watch Kerry say we are losing the war. That is false and every clear thinking person knows it. Allawi admits there are outbreaks of violence, and with the elections growing near the insurgency will fight hard to stop it. Kerry is not helping the cause and is a very dangerous man, just think of him as president. For him to question Allawi’s honesty, at a time like this is absurd. Allawi is a key part of our effort in Iraq and today John Kerry damaged that, and himself.

CBS and Kerry

Is it just me or is there a strange coincidence that the forged Rathergate papers came out at the same time as Kerry’s operation fortunate son? We have two Kerry advisers who have admitted contact with Burkett and CBS employee Mary Mapes' is not new to this. Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart said Mapes arranged his contact with Burkett. Then there is also Max Cleland, another Kerry adviser, who admits talking with Burkett a month ago and giving Burkett Lockharts number. I thought Mapes gave him the number? Something stinks here. The truth may come out if the Kerry advisers release emails and phone records, as I believe they would be screaming for if the republicans were in the same place. For those two attacks to come out at exactly the same time, well to me is very fishy.

Kerry Aide Talked to Bush Guard Docs Figure

Kerry Aide Talked to Bush Guard Docs Figure: "NEW YORK At the suggestion of a CBS News producer, a top adviser to John Kerry talked to the man at the center of the National Guard 'memogate' imbroglio before the disputed documents were revealed, FOX News has confirmed. "
Dirty Dirty
I said a few days back this would happen.
My favorite quote is this
"But Lockhart denied any connection between the Kerry campaign and the documents, saying there is "no basis" for the White House charges that the Kerry campaign had something to do with the memo entanglement.
Lockhart, the second Kerry adviser to confirm contact with Burkett, said he made the call at the suggestion of CBS producer Mary Mapes. Mapes told him there were some records "that might move the story forward," Lockhart said. "She didn't tell me what they said."
Yeah...Right...We were not interested so two of us made contact with him,,BUT CBS TOLD US TO!! There is more, get this statement
""All I know is that she [CBS producer] called and said 'this gentleman is interested in talking to you,'" Lockhart told FOX News on Tuesday. "Certainly, there was no discussion at all with Mr. Burkett about the National Guard documents ... "I think he was a little bit frustrated he was calling the campaign and I wasn't calling him back. He made some good points and that was the end of it."
"He had some political advice -- he thought we were being too passive on the whole swift boat controversy … I thanked him for the advice," Lockhart continued.
He earlier told FOX News that he only listened to Burkett — a longtime Bush critic — for a few minutes. Lockhart said Burkett made no mention of the documents, but instead said he had a lot of information that would help the Kerry campaign if it wanted to fight back against the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (search), the unregulated 527 group that sponsored ads challenging Kerry's Vietnam service.
Well, did you talk about the documents or not?? The plot thickens!

warm blues

The air tonight is cool, crisp as some would say. The leaves have not started to turn but I know fall is upon the mountains of southwest Virginia. I thought back through my youth today, as I find I do more often now. Days spent with friends, some are still here and some died young, while others just drifted away like the smoke off my cigarette.
I remember a cousin who sang like a bird. Her passion for the lord and her love of life amazes me still. She would pick me up as I walked home from school in her 69 mustang. She was called home on a Sunday morning coming home from the church she loved; Pam was 17.

Mitzi was my idol. She was to me the epitome of cool. Her big bell bottom jeans and shag hair was the style. We always were in trouble, sneaking smokes and lighting fireworks. I recall blowing up a outhouse at a local church, only to be caught before we returned home. We threw a cat in the creek just to see if they could walk on water. You know what, they can. I remember not being able to sleep, just laying and talking all night, holding hands. Real love man, so strong and pure. I wish I could feel that again. We lip sang songs and we danced (I never really have danced since) putting on shows for our parents and friends. Mitzi was called home one night, riding with friends just a couple miles from home. I still meet people who knew her and the memories pour back on me like flooding waters.

Hennon was a few years younger than me. I should have spent more time with him. He was tough as nails with a lot of love for family and friends. He was the man around his school, and would come to my house to stay all night and go see some girls he knew here. I would usually get a call from some girls’ mom to come and get him. The last time I saw him was after one of those incidents. We went to eat breakfast that morning and had a laugh about the night before. Hennon was gone in a flash a few hours later. A Trans-am and a few friends at 120 plus mph removed him from everything but my memories. He was 16.

Billy was just like me. We saw the world in the same way. The difference was I straightened up and wild Bill partied on. He roamed the streets of Chicago taking what he could, but, it was never enough. Bill was tough, his words strong and his gun was nickel. He bragged his wallet was fat. He would come down to see me and we would go to the races. He would say “I should move down here” but I knew he never would. Bill called me on fathers’ day to tell me his woman had lost their child. He was upset and had been up for several days using cocaine and drinking hard. We talked for a couple hours and said our good byes. Bill never saw another day. He ate a bullet at midnight. He had a gun, a pile of coke, and 38 cents in his pocket.

The clouds I see in the sky, I believe they are there. People are here for a while, to enjoy, to love and learn from. Nevertheless, just like the clouds they are soon gone, floating away or shut out by the dark of night leaving us with cool days and warm memories. Warm blues cover me.

The Fraternal Order of Police Gives Unprecedented Unanimous Vote of Support for the President and The Dan Rather papers could have ties to the Kerry

The Fraternal Order of Police Gives Unprecedented Unanimous Vote of Support for the President
The nation's biggest police union has voted to endorse President Bush. The 318,000-member Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) made its decision at its national board meeting in Albuquerque on Sept. 10. This is the first time in the group's history that it has made a unanimous endorsement, FOP Executive Director Jim Pasco said. He said the Kerry campaign declined to return the group's lengthy and detailed questionnaire despite repeated reminders, angering union members. 'Not only are we strongly supporting Bush,' Pasco said, "we're mad at Kerry. Our members feel he treated them without respect -- 318,000 cops. He's galvanized our base against him. It's just stupid."

Should of answered that questionnaire Flipper!! Another win for the good guys!!

A major setback for the democrats as the court says Nader will be on the ballot in Florida. It seems ironic that democrats would fight to keep anyone off the ballot, especially since Nader got 97000 votes in Florida in 2000. Do his supporters have the right to be heard? Is that not the democratic way?

What is up with Florida anyway? There were 245 electoral votes lost in last month’s primary. It was all a mistake made by an election worker. Lets see, in 2000 they did not know how to vote, now that they do they lose the votes? What’s up with that?

The Dan Rather papers could have ties to the Kerry campaign. The retired Guard official, Bill Burkett, said in an Aug. 21 e-mail to a list of Texas Democrats that after getting through "seven layers of bureaucratic kids" in the Democrat's campaign, he talked with former Georgia Sen. Max Cleland about information that would counter criticism of Kerry's Vietnam War service. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the e-mail Saturday. "I asked if they wanted to counterattack or ride this to ground and outlast it, not spending any money. (Cleland) said counterattack. So I gave them the information to do it with," Burkett wrote.”
What a story this could turn out to be! And what better reason for CBS and Rather to be so defiant about the obvious forgery.

for·a·gainst, the Kerry Adverb

for·a·gainst adverb.
1. To be both for and against something at the same time: e.g. “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it.”

You will need to understand this adverb to continue. I have studied it thru two cups of coffee and three smokes this morning. Kerry still has no firm position on Iraq. He has no firm domestic plan either. For me to call it gray is saying the least. "An ongoing examination of John Kerry’s “nuances and shades of gray in both foreign and domestic policy.” (Editorial, “A Primary Endorsement,” The New York Times, 2/26/04)
I watched Kerry on Imus and was amazed! Even with the Clinton power team onboard he was still flipping and flopping. From Imus: Kerry Says There Were No Circumstances Under Which We Should Have Gone To War, But He Was Still Right To Vote For It.
IMUS: "Do you think there are any circumstances we should have gone to war in Iraq, any?"
KERRY:
"Not under the current circumstances, no. There are none that I see. I voted based on weapons of mass destruction. The President distorted that, and I've said that. I mean, look, I can't be clearer. But I think it was the right vote based on what Saddam Hussein had done, and I think it was the right thing to do to hold him accountable. I've said a hundred times, there was a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it. The president chose the wrong way. Can't be more direct than that." (MSNBC's "Imus In The Morning," 9/15/04)
I have read this over and over again and I conclude Kerry is FORAGAINST the war in Iraq. If anyone knows please inform me and the rest of the nation. Imus concluded:
Don Imus: "I Asked Him A Number Of Questions About Iraq And I Can't Tell You What He Said." (MSNBC's "Imus in the Morning," 9/15/04)

Found another great operating system. Linspire is the software formally known as Lindows. This OS is a lot like windows but is Linux based and somewhat open source. You can install it on your windows system and dual boot or run it from a live CD. The price is $49 for download or $59 for CD shipped to you. This is a bother to me as Linux is free, but with this $49 you get a 15 day pass in the software warehouse that has over 1000 titles, most are free, to download and get yourself set up as a Linux user. Here Is a Free Deal (thanks Kevin Rose) you can use, and it does work! A Linux OS is a smart choice. If Windows fails, you can boot Linux and you are good to go. Linspire is a very easy program compared to knoppix, gnoppix, debian and others. It is a great way to get your feet wet with Linux!

The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty by Kitty Kelly is out. This same women trashed Nancy Reagan and others. She is a female Mike Moore, who puts out personal attacks without proof. He said she said stuff, with no credibility at all. What is a hoot to me is that the same democrats that cry over the best seller Unfit for Command, are cheering for this book.
Here’s what a few news org’s are saying: By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, September 8, 2004
“Gethers confirmed the accuracy of a report in London's the Mail on Sunday, which said the book contains, among other things, allegations of past drug use by President Bush. One of the sources quoted on that subject is Bush's former sister-in-law, Sharon Bush, who had a bitter divorce from the president's brother Neil. Gethers said Sharon Bush provided "confirmation" to the author but was not the initial source of the allegations. "Just because an ex-wife says it doesn't mean it's not true," he said. During the 2000 campaign, Bush repeatedly declined to address questions about possible past drug use, saying only that he had made "mistakes" when he was "young and irresponsible." He said he had not used illegal drugs since 1974 but refused to say whether he had tried them earlier. "Enough is enough when it comes to trying to dig up people's backgrounds in politics," Bush said in 1999. During the same period, St. Martin's Press withdrew a book that alleged Bush had been arrested on cocaine charges in 1972 after learning that the author had spent time in prison in a car-bombing case. The publisher's editor in chief later resigned.”
“The book did not pass muster at Newsweek, however. Editor Mark Whitaker said his magazine was given an advance copy for a possible story "and we passed. We weren't comfortable with a lot of the reporting. We will write about it if it becomes a phenomenon and looks like it will have some impact on the campaign debate, not to further publicize the reporting in it." “Whitaker said he learned late yesterday that one of his reporters, without his approval, had signed a confidentiality agreement for the advance look at the book. The agreement, he said, would have barred Newsweek from pursuing the allegations without Doubleday's permission. "The publisher was trying to constrain us in any independent reporting we could do on the book, and that's not a condition I or our lawyers would ever agree to," Whitaker said.
This last paragraph lets you know the sources are BS. Maybe Dan Rather will cover the story! The book goes like this; she said Bush did cocaine and he said Mrs. Bush sold dime bags of pot in college. Now that is a real story! He said, she said, blah, blah, blah. I take this as fact, to quote the Washington Post “During the 2000 campaign, Bush repeatedly declined to address questions about possible past drug use, saying only that he had made "mistakes" when he was "young and irresponsible." He said he had not used illegal drugs since 1974 but refused to say whether he had tried them earlier. "Enough is enough when it comes to trying to dig up people's backgrounds in politics," Bush said in 1999.” That is good enough for me.

I would like to welcome Brian to Spark It Up! Check out his blog, I placed a link on this page. Brian and I share different views, but we agree to disagree and engage in wonderful discussions.
What about the CBS papers, are they real or fake. I am still researching so I will not opine yet. I will say with what I have found out so far it does not look good for Dan (rather not check my sources) Rather.
Texans for the truth, funded by Move on.org which has lawyers who are also Kerry campaign advisers. It seems there was an outcry over the same thing with Bush and the Swifty lawyers. I wonder what has changed.
Kerry was given a shotgun by the UMWA in West Virginia. The same kind of shotgun he voted to outlaw a few years back. I will not say anything about this, but I will snicker to myself.
This weekend Kerry played the Race card. Kerry said “we will not let 1 million black votes go uncounted this election.” That is an outright lie. He is desperate and anyone who plays the race game only divides a nation. All Americans should be outraged at this statement.

|
NASCAR’s new format is underway as the last points race was held Saturday night in Richmond. The last ten races will decide the champion. Only drivers that are in the top 10 in points are eligible to win. I am a NASCAR fan from way back, before the races were broadcast on TV. I do not see the point in the new format and have several questions that will be answered over the next 10 races. I will post something every week about this.
Football is back! I watched a couple games this weekend, both pro and college, and really enjoyed its return. My local college
UVA-Wise won its second game of the season. The Highland Cavs beat Cumberland TN 30-6. Go Cavs!!!
The presidential campaigns were almost silent this weekend. I guess the 9/11 anniversary was the reason. In the news was the Assault weapons ban that will end soon. I was never for this ban. I believe people kill, not guns. If we outlaw assault weapons then only criminals have them. When you ban something, I always wonder what is next. The law to me has not proven to be
effective at stopping crime. It has been effective at stopping law-abiding gun owners who want to shoot and hunt with these weapons. If we ban one gun, is my gun next? If we ban a book, is my book next? Where does it end?
CNN has lost all creditability to me. They have
two people on the pay roll who are also advisers to John Kerry. How does that work I wonder. If Fox news did that, the whole media empire would scream foul. I did notice that CNN’s polls did not show a bounce for Bush after the RNC. Every other major poll showed double digits. I think now I know why; don’t you.

By Richard Morin and Dan BalzWashington Post Staff WritersFriday, September 10, 2004; Page A01
President Bush emerged from his New York convention with a solid lead over Democratic challenger John F. Kerry, strengthening his position on virtually every important issue in the campaign and opening up a clear advantage on many of the personal characteristics that influence voters in presidential elections, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
For the first time in a Post-ABC News poll this year, a majority of probable voters say they plan to vote for Bush. Among those most likely to vote in November, Bush holds a lead of 52 percent to 43 percent over Kerry, with independent Ralph Nader receiving 2 percent of the hypothetical vote. Among all registered voters, Bush leads Kerry 50 percent to 44 percent.

Thats a great showing for Bush!

Released Completely?John Kerry biographer Douglas Brinkley, who had exclusive and unrestricted use of Kerry's letters, journals, notebooks, and personal accounts from Vietnam, is now calling on Kerry to release his full military file.
This after the Navy announced it's investigating whether Kerry's medal citations, posted on his Web site, are accurate. Brinkley says, “Is it sloppiness, is it purposeful intent, is there an easy explanation for [any discrepancies]? ... Right now it's unclear."
Brinkley says if the investigation finds evidence of deliberate distortion, that could be the end to Kerry's candidacy.

Top News Article Reuters.com: "By Patricia Wilson and Adam Entous

CANONSBURG, Pa./POPLAR BLUFF (Reuters) - Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry launched one of his harshest broadsides against the Iraq war on Monday, sparking an angry response from President Bush, as the war overshadowed their attempts to focus on the economy.
Marking Labor Day, the traditional kickoff for what has become a marathon presidential campaign season, the two candidates held rallies in the battleground states of Missouri, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio with Kerry now trailing by double digits in national polls.
Kerry tried to focus on domestic issues at a neighborhood meeting in Canonsburg, but members of the audience raised Iraq.
After months of off-and-on criticism of the war, Kerry seized the opening, calling the invasion 'the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time,' and said his goal was to withdraw U.S. troops in a first White House term.
In a statement issued later, Kerry called Iraq a 'quagmire' created by Bush's 'wrongheaded, go-it-alone' policy.
Bush turned from his tax reform proposals to shoot back at Kerry during a rally in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, accusing the Massachusetts senator of vacillating on Iraq after bringing in new advisers.
'After voting for the war but against funding it, after saying he would have voted for the war even knowing everything we know today, my opponent woke up this morning with new campaign advisers and yet another new position,' Bush said. 'Suddenly he's against it again.'
'No matter how many times Sen. Kerry changes his mind, it was right for America then and it's right for America now,' he told the crowd, which chanted back, 'flip-flop, flip flop.'"

Kerry is amazing!! I cant believe this guy. He is struggling now!! At his convention, and after the RNC, he stresses economy. Now what does he do? He talks war. That is a smart choice since he flip flopped on voting. I always believed a man should stand for something, and he should have the right to change his mind; but, to quote Bill O'Reilly " that is ridiculus." Kerry stands for everything, all the time, and that is a big problem.

Bush ahead by 11 points, polls show
September 6, 2004

As President George Bush and John Kerry campaigned along the Ohio-Pennsylvania border on Saturday, a second national poll showed Mr Bush had jumped to an 11 percentage points lead in the race for the White House.
A Newsweek poll, like one in Time magazine released on Friday, showed that Mr Bush led Senator Kerry by a double figure-percentage after the Republican National Convention in New York on Thursday, the first clear edge in the closely fought race.

Now thats what a Great Convention is suppose to do! I believe the lead will grow as time goes by.
The terrorism in the Russion school shows that this fight is not over. I doubt it ever will be. i pray for the people there.

gmail and the rnc

Well the RNC is over and what a wonderful time it was. It got major attention, especially from the democrats. Before Bush was in the car to leave the hall, Kerry was on giving a rebuttal. Why I wondered? Fear is the answer. This action has not been taken before. Why now? Fear is the answer again. This convention made people think about their safety, to think about their children and grandchildren. Now I cannot wait until the debates!
I watched both conventions in detail. The RNC was the most powerful by far. The energy level, the diversity, and the content was much better. The RNC showed pro lifers and pro-choice believers. They showed prayer, faith, and hope. The democrats showed only the far left. Not one pro lifer or conservative were allowed to speak. It is sad how the Democratic Party has changed. They are saying the republicans attacked them. I say if you look at what was said you will find it was all fact based on voting records over a 20 year period. We will see the outcome in the polls over the next few days. Let the campaign begin!

I got a few Gmail invites to give out. post a comment or email me and I will do my best to give you one. I will get more requests than I have invites (20) so tell me why you want one and i will pick the best ones. God bless

Zell Tells It!!

Tonight Zell Miller stole the show. He delivered the most powerful speech I have heard in years. It was all fact based and to the point. I can hear the democrats crying as I type. The hard talk against Kerry was appropriate, since it came from a Democrat. That is what I have said here for a while. The democrats are out of touch with the common man. What rang true for me was the fact that Kerry voted against the first gulf war even though we had the whole world and the UN on our side. He will not lead; he will cower. Kerry voted against everything Reagan did to build up our military and stop the cold war. He voted against every weapons program. John Kerry if elected will weaken the nation. I have saw a blend of people at this convention, pro life, pro choice, etc. The democrats would not allow a pro life person to speak at the convention. Why? I think because the far left fanatics from Hollywood and Massachusetts now control the once great party. I just watched a interview with an Iraq vet just home and they booed him because he supports Bush. One more thing before I retire. Zell talked about we are Liberators, not occupiers. Democrats are suppose to support human rights. They say Kerry and his supporters just do not get it. Remember; vote Kerry for a weaker America. Vote Kerry because there are two Americas and two John Kerry’s. He voted for it before he voted against it!
