Criminals for Kaine

UPDATE
Sources tell Spark It Up that a new group-Criminals for Kaine are pledging their support! A blog is planned and should be up and running soon. Kilo is on the breaking story! A unidentified prisoner states "Warner has started the dream and Tim Kaine will continue. We felons are everywhere and coming to vote with you soon. Why should we lose rights..our victims didnt"
More to come...stay tuned. Posted by Hello
|

Democrats want felons support!

I posted THIS back in Feb.

Hillary Clinton wants to give felons the right to vote. The reason you ask....(From USA Today)

  • "Once again we had a federal election that demonstrates we have a long way to go."
  • "I think it's also necessary to make sure our elections meet the highest national standards,
  • Yes! That is a plan Mrs. Clinton! Lets allow felons to vote and fill the polling places with people who broke the law. Those ex-killers, rapists, and child molesters deserve to get that right back. I believe that there are three things that stick with felons for life: The label felon, loss of firearms, and loss of voting rights. For any victim or their family, I believe they take solace in this lifelong punishment.
Now it seems our own state leaders are doing the same. Warner has restored more felons rights that the last 4 governors combined. This will again hurt the Kaine campaign as they are really "appealing" to Virginias mainstream. The WT reports:
  • Kaine would continue restoring felons' rights.
  • Mr. Kaine, who is seeking the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, would govern in a manner similar to Mr. Warner, who has restored rights to 2,157 felons since taking office in 2002 -- more than the previous four governors combined.

From Commonwealth Watch

  • Vote Tim Kaine - He's against the death penalty, and he'll restore convicted felons' voting rights.
I cant wait to talk about this at the barber shop in Wise!

Ga. Woman Found, Reportedly Got Cold Feet

Adelphia.net - News
  • A Georgia bride-to-be who vanished just days before her wedding turned up in New Mexico and fabricated a tale of abduction before admitting Saturday that she got cold feet and "needed some time alone," police said.
No charges are pending.....Sad.
The time and money wasted...police busy looking for her dumb butt while their time could of been spent elsewhere. There should be some charge that would apply....John...Any ideas?

Warner first in America in restoring felons' rights

Warner first in America in restoring felons' rights - The Washington Times: Metropolitan - April 29, 2005

  • Mr. Warner, a Democrat, has restored the rights to 2,157 felons since taking office in January 2002 and has denied the requests of 134 felons.
Among governors of the 14 states that deny voting rights to felons, Mr. Warner has restored more voting rights than any other chief executive, according a report from the Sentencing Project, a District-based criminal-justice advocacy group.
So lets see here....He raised my taxes and sets records for giving felons rights?? Sounds like Clinton and Warner in 2008. Heh

The Democrats plan on Social Security

From Gopbloggers
  • Sen. Harry Reid Confirms: There Is No Democratic Social Security Plan

"I just called Harry Reid's office. He's the Democratic leader in the Senate. I asked if there was a Democratic plan for Social Security. The aide said Reid is against President Bush's plan. I said I was aware what Reid was against but was interested in what he was for. This question completely flustered the aide. She alternated between saying that there was no problem, that she did not know where the Democratic plan was, that I was wrong to say that the Democrats had no plan even though an aide in the Leader's office wasn't aware of one, and that Reid opposed President Bush's plan (that was the most frequently mentioned part of the Democratic position)."

Then this update as a plan was found:
  • FLASH: DEMOCRATIC SOCIAL SECURITY PLAN DISCOVERED!

Having no luck with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid's office, I tried Chuck Schumer's office to find the elusive Democratic plan for Social Security. I spoke with a wonderful staffer who was very forthright and frank about this issue. She pointed me to the Diamond-Orszag Plan, which, as explained to me, mimics the 1983 Greenspan Commission. (somebody might want to let the Democratic leader in the Senate know that he has a plan)

The plan calls for tax increases and benefit cuts! ....Indeed!
|
I thought President Bush did well last night. I like private accounts! You would have to be a fool not too. Why are the democrats denying me the same type of accounts they have? They think we are not smart enough to invest our money and we need them to take care of that for us. Polls have shown that the college educated and college students like the accounts too. Why? A much better return and it is YOUR money, not the governments. It is sad the democrats have no plans or ideas on this issue. This will cost them dearly in the elections.
  • Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid raised a few eyebrows yesterday on the Senate floor when he said it would take a "miracle" for Democrats to win enough races next year to take back the Senate. "I would like to think a miracle would happen and we would pick up five seats this time," he said during a floor debate over the filibusters of President Bush's judicial nominees. "I guess miracles never cease." Read all
Increasing benefits for the lower class and decreasing benefits for the wealthy has the Dems crying foul! Yet, they scream all the time to tax the wealthy more?? Please explain this?? The democratic party is sinking fast....Indeed

Randi Rhodes-Air America apologizes to Bush....What would Ted Kennedy say?

Air America radio host: Punish me if I broke law
  • A liberal radio talk-show host who aired a comedy skit featuring an apparent gunshot warning to President Bush has apologized, and says she's not afraid of being prosecuted over the matter."This was just a stupid, stupid bit!" exclaimed Randi Rhodes on yesterday's broadcast on the Air America network. "But, if it crossed the line, then certainly, there must be punishment, and if there is, I want to be punished so that I can actually say 'Equal justice under law.' Anybody that has stepped over this line of law needs to be prosecuted, including me.

I wonder what ole Ted Kennedy thinks about this "skit"...will he voice his opinion? Doubtful...HEH!! The barking moonbat goes on to say
  • Rhodes said she's been contacted by producers of NBC's "Today Show" who want her to provide them the skit to air on national television, along with an appearance by Rhodes.
"How in the world could a bad bit be worthy of a 'Today Show' segment, but the 15 years of talk radio in the wilderness of the conservative AM dial means nothing?" Rhodes asked rhetorically. "You don't become a media whore because now there's an opportunity to get your mug on the freakin' TV. It's not what I'm about."

NBC's "Today Show"......Imagine that....Indeed

Jerry Kilgore releases Transportation Plan

From the Jerry Kilgore web-site:
  • Former Attorney General and candidate for Governor Jerry Kilgore today proposed a comprehensive, innovative plan to address transportation needs in regions across Virginia. As Governor, Kilgore will create regional transportation authorities that will be empowered to make decisions about local transportation needs and raise the funds necessary to make improvements. Other proposals include securing the Transportation Trust Fund and requiring the worst driving offenders to help pay for road improvements.
"The state has a responsibility to provide for major highways and rural roads, and we need to invest more in transportation at the state level. But all the answers are not found in Richmond, and all the decisions should not be made there either," Kilgore said. "I trust the people driving on the roads, not the bureaucrat staring at a map in Richmond."
  • Read it All
I like the "Kilgore will create regional transportation authorities that will be empowered to make decisions about local transportation needs and raise the funds necessary to make improvements." This is long overdue! Here in Wise we are facing a new access road and why not let locals have some say. Example of this is the State proposed road costs double what the locals have planned, less homes are disturbed, and will carry the majority of traffic as compared to the state plan. Read about it here.

Virginia Political Blogosphere Explodes

WOW....What a day for Virginia bloggers. The issue is something I have blogged about many times: The stupidity of the Tim Kaine campaign to make an issue of Jerry Kilgores voice and sexuality. What is even more absurd is their attempt now to deny it. Today while getting my hair cut at a local barber shop and discussing politics a man said "My son sounds just like Jerry Kilgore." This made me think of my family and yes, I have family members who sound like Jerry. My father is one of these people. So yes this rhetoric pisses me off. I am not as educated as other ODBA members, nor am I a good writer or researcher. I am in touch with my community and have been for many years. I write about how I feel and what I hear at work, school, church, and socializing. The whole effeminate issue is bad politics, if not as my grandfather would say "chicken shit" politics. The use of that word is sexist at the least. The Lady in my life is pulling her hair and spreading the word at school because she takes this as a attack on women. I commented on this first in January. If Jerry Kilgore sounds effeminate, then my father does too, and I am sure every person in SWVA understands Kaines intent. I am not alone here in SWVA and the Kaine crew will HEAR us speak LOUD and CLEAR election day.

Now on to the real bloggers.
John has this and this.
Addison has this.
One Mans Trash has this and this.
The Salt Lick has this.
Update: Norm has added this post.
I will add that if you read comments by the Kaine crew you are made to believe Kilgore never speaks in public....Pure BS!

New Opera Browser Fails at Basics

Opera 8 is reviewed here. It has lots of bells and whistles-You talk to it and it talks to you.
  • Opera's new Web browser responds to commands you speak into a microphone. It rearranges pages to fit narrower windows. It adds a security bar to help reduce the risk of fraud. All impressive features. But when it comes to the basics, too many Web sites simply don't work as well with Opera when compared with rival browsers from Microsoft Corp. and the Mozilla Foundation.

I just dont understand anyone paying for a browser. I use Firefox and in my opinion it is the best little browser you can get. It is a good review but Firefox users will easily spot the reviewer is a novice with Mozilla use. Anyway, the review ends with this:
  • The $39 browser (free if you accept ads) is available for Windows and Linux computers, though the voice features need Windows 2000 or XP.
A Mac OS version is being tested.
If IE were the only option, then Opera would be a strong candidate.

But Firefox handles all the basics well. For free. And works on the Mac.

Long married couple die on same day...

This is amazing and I must say will keep me up most of the night. The AP reports
  • Long-Married Couple Die on Same Day

  • ST. LOUIS, Mich. -- Alexander J. Vance and his wife, Leola, made a life together for nearly 64 years. This week, they died 14 hours apart at Schnepp's Health Care Center.
Alexander Vance met Leola in Algonac, where Vance was building barges for the military in 1941. He was 20, she was 16.
Leola Vance later told her children that she liked her future husband's personality and the twinkle in his eye. He liked "everything" about her, Phil Vance, the couple's 48-year-old son, told the Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant for a Saturday story.
They married Dec. 19, 1941 and moved to the Alma area.
Alexander Vance worked for Alma Products for 39 years, retiring as general foreman about 20 years ago, while his wife was a homemaker.
The couple stayed in their home for as long as they could, until Parkinson's disease forced Alexander Vance to move into a nursing home in February.
Earlier this month, Leola Vance, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, began complaining that her head hurt. It later was determined that she had bleeding in her brain. By April 15, her husband also had taken a turn for the worse and both were in a coma in a nursing home.
"It was almost like a race," Phil Vance said. "They always said they wanted to go together and I sometimes think they were telepathically communicating about who would go first. But we were told she might live for several more days."
Alexander Vance died at 9:45 a.m. EDT Wednesday. Phil Vance said family members were singing hymns in his mother's room later that night, when she stopped breathing just before midnight.
"'Now you can be together,' I said," recalled Phil Vance, a retired minister who will perform a service at the Dewey Funeral Home in Alma on Monday.
"They had asked me to do the funeral. It's really a great love story."
If this does not move you...nothing will.

Addison has a good post that shows the IRONY that is Tim Kaine. Kaine slams Kilgore for "letting slick radio announcers do his dirty work." Addison listens to Kaines newest ad and
  • "Kaine uses Ms. Come Hither for 38 seconds of the 60 second spot."
Heh!
Addison adds in a new post "similarities between Daschle-2004 and Kaine-2005" Good stuff Addison.

Check out Johns post RaisingDean.

Norman has Kaine's Ads Tread on Perilous Ground. Another strong post showing Kaines Irony. I have said all along Kaines message will not carry SWVA, and after reading the first few results of polls- he will not carry the northern either. While Kaine's crew call him names, make fun of his voice and family, Kilgore pounds out his message and his grass roots team gets stronger. ...stronger...stronger....Indeed

White House to Enforce Abortion-Fetus Law..

AP News - from Tampa Bay Online

  • "The Bush administration said Friday that it would enforce a nearly 3-year-old federal law that requires doctors to attempt to keep alive a fetus that survives an abortion.
  • In making the announcement, the Department of Health and Human Services Department said it was an attempt to educate the public about the little-known law. Officials said they didn't know how often a fetus survives an abortion and would not say whether there have been any complaints about a lack of enforcement"

It is about time to enforce this law...Indeed

Addison has some good pictures of the Shad Planking.

Connecticut governor M. Jodi Rell signed in to law allowing gay civil unions. I agree with William at Southern Appeal on this. The law was made by elected public servants, not judges. That is the way it should be. The people can choose if they were represented come election day.

BASEBALL ! Go Sox!
Spending my first 13 years in Chicago, I am an avid White Sox fan. The Sox have won 4 in a row and are off to a 12-4 start to lead the central division by 2 games. I attended Cubs games too, but Wrigley was all day games and it was hot. I wish WGN would broadcast more Sox games, but the Cubs fans would ROAR!

Swing State Project

  • "Tim Kaine is on track to get spanked in Virginia's gubernatorial campaign. The latest numbers I'v seen show Republican Jerry Kilgore up by 10 and the blundering Kaine campaign is only making things worse."
  • "Kaine is getting advice so bad it would be called political malpractice, but by definition it isn't based in reality, it isn't based in reason."
  • "The Kaine campaign has lost touch with reality and it is playing out in the papers. It would be one thing to lose the Governor's seat in Virginia, but Kaine seems hell-bent on taking down the Democratic Party in the process."
  • "It is one thing for Kaine to make an ass of himself and lose his gubernatorial campaign. It is another when he says the word "never" twice in reference to Democrats living in a reality based world."

I did not get this from a ODBA or republican blog. This came from Swing State Project. The quotes are from Bob Brigham. The site is ran by DavidNYC who says:

  • I am a native New Yorker now studying law in Washington, D.C. I have always been interested in politics, and I consider myself a "blog child" of the DailyKos, a site which I cannot recommend highly enough. I am a lifelong Democrat, but my hope is that the analysis on this site is free from partisan favoritism. That is to say, I plan to examine all relevant issues rigorously, whether or not they favor Democrats.

Check it out....Indeed.

Condoleezza Rice for President?

Las Vegas Sun reports Rice let it slip in this interview.
  • "One day you will run for president?" Rice was asked on Ekko Moskvy Radio.
"President, da, da," Rice readily replied.
That, as nearly everyone knows, even if they are not fluent in Russian as Rice is believed to be, means yes.
"Nyet, nyet, nyet, nyet," Rice quickly added, taking herself out of the race as fast as she'd gotten into it.
The former academic, whose specialty was Soviet studies, is fluent in Russian - usually.
Moments before, in response to a series of friendly questions from listeners, Rice had begun her answers by saying "Da."

I think we will see a male-female ticket from both parties in the next election. Rice will be a good choice.

Google Launches Personal History Feature

This is very interesting. Check it out at Google Labs. Create your password and see what has been searched on your puter...
Is this helpful....maybe. But
  • "The service allows users to decide if they want Google to automatically recognize them without having to log in each time they use the same computer. Those who prefer to log in on each visit can use a link that will appear in the right-hand corner of Google's home page."

So I could put this on someone else's computer.....Hmmm......Very interesting Indeed.

Shad Planking

John has a good post here about this year’s Shad Planking. It seems Kaine has out of state workers there

  • " I have confirmation that MoveOn.org, the far left George Soros outfit, has brought in a large number of non-Virginians to assist Kaine. I’ve also heard that ACT-types are there, too, but that hasn’t been confirmed for me.

Gotta make you wonder whether Kaine has any Virginia grassroots support at all. First, Kaine sets a signature goal, then can’t get the feet on the pavement to meet that goal (couldn’t even get 2/3 of the goal), and now he has to bring in out-of-staters to give the appearance that he has lots of support. It’s kind of pitiful, frankly. He’s been running for Governor since 2001; you would think Kaine would have more of a network by now." Read all of Johns post here.

The post has been updated and it looks like the Kaine crew are stealing Kilgore signs or covering them up. This from the same bunch who complained about this here.

Irony...Indeed

Apollo 13 engineers honored....It is about time

  •  Apollo 13 Engineers Feted on Anniversary
  • " A group of engineers was honored Tuesday for concocting a plan using plastic bags, cardboard and duct tape to save Apollo 13's astronauts after their spacecraft was crippled by an explosion 35 years ago.

The story of Apollo 13 is amazing! If you have kids please tell them the story. It shows American know how, faith, and resolve.

  •  Astronauts Jim Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert would have died without the engineers' quick thinking....... Sunday marked the 35th anniversary of the spacecraft's return to Earth after their aborted moon mission. It was crippled by an oxygen tank that overheated and exploded, raising concerns the carbon dioxide the astronauts expelled from their lungs as they breathed would eventually kill them. Two of Apollo's three fuel cells, a primary source of power, also were lost.

10 years ago today.....168 lives lost in the bombing at Oklahoma City. Dick Cheney spoke: "All of us respect you for the way you've borne tragedy over the last decade and for your great devotion to the memory of those who died here," Vice President Dick Cheney (search) told survivors and loved ones.

"Goodness overcame evil that day," he said.

"All humanity can see you experienced bottomless cruelty and responded with heroism," he told the crowd. "Your strength was challenged and you held firm. Your faith was tested and it has not wavered." Bill Clinton added: "by the grace of God, time takes its toll not only on youth and beauty, but also on tragedy. The tomorrows come almost against our will. And they bring healing and hope, new responsibilities and new possibilities." Well said. Indeed. Posted by Hello

Jerry Kilgore still leading in the polls!

Via Gopbloggers:

  •  A new Rasmussen Poll has Republican Jerry Kilgore leading his Democratic rival Tim Kaine:
April 16, 2005...In the race to become Virginia's next Governor, Republican Jerry Kilgore leads Democrat Tim Kaine by eight percentage points, 44% to 36%.

Forty-nine percent (49%) of Virginia have a favorable opinion of Kilgore while 33% have an unfavorable opinion. Eighteen percent (18%) are not sure.

For Kaine, the numbers are 44% favorable, 31% unfavorable, and 25% not sure.

Good news for Kilgore! After the whipping Kaine took and his failure to meet his goal..I cant wait to see what the Kaine crew has to say.

Labour heading for victory - polls
  • Labour is heading for a third General Election victory, according to a clutch of recently-published polls. But the projected margin of Tony Blair's victory varied as pollsters put his lead over the Tories at anywhere between one and 10%. According to a YouGov poll for The Sunday Times, Michael Howard has narrowed the gap to just a single point, with Labour on 36%, the Tories on 35% and the Liberal Democrats on 23%. If repeated on May 5, this would give Tony Blair a majority of nearly 60 seats.
The MSM has portrayed England as anti Blair after the war on terror, yet we get these poll results. Can we really believe the MSM anymore?

Sunni militants take as many as 100 Shiite Muslims hostage

  • "BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Iraqi security forces surrounded a central Iraqi village Sunday after Sunni militants took as many as 100 Shiite Muslims hostage and threatened to kill the captives if other Shiites did not leave town. The explosive sectarian standoff played out, as 17 people -- including an American soldier -- were killed in insurgent attacks elsewhere in Iraq. Late Saturday, insurgents fired mortar rounds at a U.S. Marine base near Ramadi, 70 miles west of Baghdad, the military said, adding that there were no American casualties. Residents said dozens of armed fighters moved through the city after dark. They reported loud explosions when the militants tried to force their way into Camp Blue Diamond and said there were casualties among the attackers. "

This is a big problem. The result of this will be bloody.

UPDATE

  • BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi security forces raided a village in central Iraq on Sunday where Sunni terrorists were holding dozens of Shiite Muslims hostage and threatening to kill them unless all Shiites left the area, an Iraqi official said.

Jerry Kilgore whips Tim Kaine in Petition Drive

Jerry Kilgore whips Kaine by getting over 34,000 signatures. Kaine who boasted he would get 30,000 ended up with 18,776. This is a great achievement for the Kilgore crew! The Commonwealth Conservative has this and asks this.

From Commonwealth Watch

  • Hey, losing is painful. I would say it's a good chance for Kaine to get used to that feeling to warm up for November. You can spin it however you want, but Kaine simply got crushed on this test of organizational strength.
Yep....CRUSHED

Lets look at what the moonbats are saying.......Try not to laugh to hard. It is funny to read how they ignore not reaching their goal, and the best they can offer is Fitch getting on the ballot with 16,000 signatures.....Fitch 16,000...Kaine 18,000......OH MY...This is too funny!

US contractor Jeffrey Ake held hostage.

Jeffrey Ake is being held hostage in Iraq. Mark Noonan at B4B has some good thoughts about this compared to other hostages taken.
  • First off, as this news story indicates, no name of the terrorist group was displayed (it is usual in these things to have such a banner in the video); secondly, no terrorist group has taken responsibility for the act; finally, the demand, given through Mr. Ake reading a statement, is for the United States to "open a dialogue with the Iraqi resistence" to save his life. Open a dialogue? Has anyone ever heard of the terrorists making such a demand before? I haven't. (read all)
He is right. All the others displayed a flag, claimed responsibility, and had many demands of releasing prisoners and the US withdrawal.
Very strange....Indeed.

Those deceiving Democrats

B4B has this:

  •  FactCheck.org: Democrats Pushing "Rigged" Social Security Calculator
  •

Democrats have been using a web-based "calculator" to generate individualized answers to the question, "How much will you lose under Bush privatization plan?" For young, low-wage workers it projects cuts of up to 50% in benefits. And a $1-million TV advertising campaign is amplifying the claim, saying, "Look below the surface (of Bush's plan) and you'll find benefit checks cut almost in half."

In fact, the calculator is rigged. We find it is based on a number of false assumptions and deceptive comparisons.

This is a great article, give it a read here.

Unpublished Tennessee Williams Poem Found

This is very cool! The AP reports a poem has been found.
  • ST. LOUIS - A previously unpublished poem by Tennessee Williams, described as having been "written out of absolute, complete despair," has been discovered in his blue test booklet from a college course in 1937.

The 17-line poem, titled "Blue Song," has been acquired by Washington University in St. Louis, where Williams, as a student in his mid-20s, plummeted into depression before fleeing the city he said he despised. (Read it all)

The Associated Press reports: Baby Who Had Surgery in United States for Heart Defects Heads Home to Afghanistan a Different Little Boy
  • INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A frail 16-month-old boy diagnosed with severe cardiac
problems at a refugee camp near Kabul began his return trip home Monday -
surgically repaired and chubby-cheeked. The long journey for Qudrat Wardak began
in September, when an Indiana National Guard doctor examined him at the camp
near the Afghan capital and found numerous heart defects - the worst being the
reversal of the heart's main blood vessels that stunted the baby's growth.
He weighed about as much as a typical 5-month-old when he arrived in the
United States in late February for surgery.
    "He couldn't talk, he couldn't
play, he couldn't eat or do anything," Qudrat's father, Hakimgul Wardak, said as
the boy and his father prepared to leave Indianapolis International Airport.

Then goes on to say,

  • Abdul Matin Sharifi, who traveled with Qudrat and his father as their
interpreter, said he expected the boy would have died without the work of
military doctors and others who arranged for treatment unavailable in
    Afghanistan.
"They really saved a life," Sharifi said. "He is really blessed
by God. Someday he is probably going to be governor of Indiana."

This is a good story and I am sure there are many more we never hear about.

New book may sink Hillary

Drudge Reports PUBLISHER FIGHT OVER 'HILLARY IN THE RAW'
  • A book battle has broken out on Publisher's Row over the ultimate Hillary-attack! The project being billed as "Hillary in the Raw", like you've never seen her before, is set to drop in September by liberal Ed Klein, former NYT MAGAZINE editor, VANITY FAIR, PARADE contributor and author of multiple works on the Kennedys. "The revelations in it should sink her candidacy," a source close to Klein warns the DRUDGE REPORT. (read it all)

Sounds like a good read! I hope the Drudge is accurate. I am sure everyone would like to know some Clinton secrets. I am sure the left will scream and cry foul, but if the book is by liberal Ed Klien...Yes a liberal writing about a liberal?? I am looking forward to the democrats response.

Troops to pull out of Iraq soon? Lets pray it is true! The NY Times reports:

U.S. Commanders See Possible Cut in Troops in Iraq Published: April 11, 2005

WASHINGTON, April 10 - Two years after
the fall of Saddam Hussein, the
American-led military campaign in Iraq is making
enough progress in fighting
insurgents and training Iraqi security forces to
allow the Pentagon to plan
for significant troop reductions by early next year,
senior commanders and
Pentagon officials say.

Kerry cites voter intimidation examples

BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Many voters in last year's presidential
election were denied access to the polls through trickery and intimidation,
former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry told a voters' group
Sunday.

The Moonbat Kerry say's

"Kerry also cited examples Sunday of how people were duped into not
voting.
"Leaflets are handed out saying Democrats vote on Wednesday,
Republicans vote on Tuesday. People are told in telephone calls that if you've
ever had a parking ticket, you're not allowed to vote," he said.

I find this very funny! Hey, if you dont know when election day is, you should not vote! Now on to Kerry's better half

John Edwards Speaks Up

Don’t crown Hillary yet!Hillary Clinton may be all but declared the 2008 nominee
here in New York, but don’t tell John Edwards that. “I think talking about a
front-runner four years before an election is ridiculous,” he tells us. Edwards
is coming to town this week to give a speech at the New School assailing Bush
tax policies, and to visit his daughter, who works at Vanity Fair. Now at the
University of North Carolina, his voting finger is clearly itchy. We ran through
some talking points. The circus of legislative outrage surrounding Terri
Schiavo? “We saw the memo that went out to Republican leaders about how they
could take political advantage of Terri Schiavo. That’s disgusting. They will
pay a price for this in the 2006 and 2008 elections.” The Democratic
acquiescence to the appointments of Condoleezza Rice and Alberto Gonzales? “I
would have voted against them.” Would you oppose John Bolton as U.N. ambassador?
“I would.” The easy passage of tort reform? “People have attacked my [trial
lawyer] career ever since I’ve been involved in politics. But the attacks never
stick. I think people fundamentally believe that those who have been wronged by
powerful interests should be able to hold them accountable.” The reports that
you told John Kerry you wouldn't run against him? “The conversations that John
Kerry and I have had are personal and private.” —Greg Sargent

Saddam may escape Death Sentence

Tip of the Hat to Wes Roth

Saddam may escape noose in deal to halt insurgency
Saddam Hussein could avoid the gallows under a secret proposal by insurgent
leaders that Iraq's new administration is "seriously considering", a senior
government source said yesterday.... Officials say they are looking for a way of
joining the political process after January's election, which was boycotted by
most of the once-powerful Sunni minority.
"We are trying to reach out to the
insurgents," the source said. "We don't expect them to stop fighting
unconditionally. Sending Saddam to prison for the rest of his life is not a huge
price for us to pay, but it will save them a lot of face."

I dont take much faith in this but you never you know what could happen. My self, I dont like it.

Around the ODBA

Lighthorse Larry over at Sic Semper Tyrannis has asked: "Who is Ron Mexico" Well that would be Michael Vick's alias as he tries to get treatment for a STD. It seems Vick is spreading the disease. Give it a read.

Norman over at One Mans Trash has: "Good Copy" Turns to Kaine Ads. Norman lays it out about Tim Kaines recent Bible thumping and trying to convince people he is something he is not.

Dale Franks over at the power blog Q & O has:  "Supply-Side Quackery"  Dale breaks down the Supply-Side theory very well! Great read Dale!

Cathouse Chat has a post on "Dying of "convenience"  The lady of the house has the story of " Granddaughter yanks grandma's feeding tube, puzzles and maddens me. In a close parallel to Terri Shiavo, an 81-year-old widow, denied nourishment and fluids for nearly two weeks, is clinging to life in a hospice in LaGrange, Ga., while her immediate family fights desperately to save her life before she dies of starvation and dehydration.

Steve at SW Virginia Law Blog has: " What to ask in the debate of the Republican candidates for Attorney General." A real good post about issues that are important to Virginians.

Rick Sincere has: "Gay-Baiting Jerry Kilgore" Rick talks about the Kaine Crew's obsession with Jerry Kilgores voice and sexual orientation. I posted about this a while back.

The Commonwealth Conservative say's: Tim Kaine is a liar. Mr. Behan gets to the truth! Give it a read.

Today makes 27 years I have lived in Wise. We moved here from Chicago when I was 13. I was thinking today how coal was moving back then. You could not drive anywhere without following a coal truck. The sides of the roads were sometimes 2 foot deep with coal dust. Jobs were plentiful and times were good. Tonight Shannon and I rode around Wise for a little while.....We saw one truck. Times have changed.

Southern Appeal has a good post on the nuclear option. It seems it has been used before. Read it all here.

The Commonwealth Conservative has some good pics of a Tim Kaine rally at UVA. John also has some pics of Jerry Kilgore at the Bristol Race!. Read the comments and get a good chuckle!

The cat is .....unusual

Terri is at peace.

Terri is at peace.

What will the autopsy find? Are lawsuits and books on the horizon? I imagine the made for TV movies are already in the works. This story is milestone event in my life. Terri’s death yesterday was somewhat like 9/11, an event that opens your eyes. I am not an expert on this case. I do feel that yesterday Terri died from starvation because "€œthey said that is what she wanted."€ I find that hard to accept. "€œThey said"€? I hope nothing like this happens to my family. I pray America rethinks its actions in this case. Starvation of anyone, no matter what their mental capacity, is wrong.

What about George Felos? Is he a creep or what?

Michelle Malkin has some great info here.
