Cops Shoot Dog - What say You?

Y' all know I support law enforcement, but this just stinks. Underlined by me.

A Kingsport man claims police shot his pit bull for no reason, but police say it appears the officer’s actions were justified.

Richie Hammonds, 1005 Derwood Court, No. 4, says a Kingsport police officer came onto his property Sunday afternoon and shot his pit bull without provocation.

“The law came up here, and they said they were after two black guys in the neighborhood behind the apartments. One walked up and put a foot across the fence. My dog was walking toward him, and he got back across the fence. Then he drew his weapon and shot him,” Hammonds said.

Hammonds said his dog had never displayed any signs of aggression. He did not say whether any other dogs were there in addition to the one that was shot and killed.
He claimed the officer said after the shooting that he “just didn’t like pit bulls.”(Click to read it all)

So the cops are looking for two black dudes that "looked suspicious". They go on this innocent man's property and shoot his dog. They don't catch the black dudes.....Black dudes that looked suspicious...Not thieves, not rapists, just suspicious. Result - dead dog. Damn that sucks. Am I wrong?
