Williams sentenced Owens to five years in federal prison on each count, to be served all at the same time.
At the defense attorney's request, the judge agreed to recommend incarceration at a prison in Butner, N.C., that is equipped to provide post-traumatic stress disorder treatment for Owens, an Iraq war combat veteran.
After his prison time, Owens must serve five years of supervised release, with access to mental health services. He must avoid alcohol and drugs, submit to random drug testing and warrantless searches of his home, and not possess any guns or "destructive devices," the judge stipulated.
Between the two of them, Williams ordered, Owens and Hyatt must pay restitution totaling $523,851, along with minor court fees.
Each man must pay at least $25 per month or half their work income from prison jobs, whichever is higher. After their release, each must pay at least $100 per month. LINK
