We Have Breaking News from Buena Vista Parade

Reports are coming in. The crowd was huge and I am hearing Jim Gilmore cleaned a red faced Mark Warner's clock. From the "Drill Now" oil rig floats to the speeches it sounds like Warner was rattled!

I am also hearing Warner the debate ducker has agreed to a debate in less than 20 days. Kinda funny since Lowell Feld posted recently

"...future Senator Mark Warner doesn't want to waste any more time with Gilmore, having already debated him once. According to Gilmore, "the people of Virginia have a right to see and hear candidates for public office discuss the issues."

Heh! Now Warner has agreed to debate Gilmore, but be assured it wont be a statewide televised event like the one he ducked out of with the League of Women voters. What a coward!

I also hear that the mention of Governor Palin brought a roar from the crowd! Hopefully she will visit and team up with Gilmore to pound Mark the Duck on energy issues! More later including pics and hopefully some video...stay tuned.

Gilmore has debate Warner once already, and they have had the Fairfax debate later this month set for months. Acting like this was just agreed upon due to pressure is an outright lie.

This is the same Gilmore that refused to debate Marshall even ONCE, w/ his spokeperson saying “We’re past the point of debates” and that “delegates already know where Gov. Gilmore stands on the issues.”

We'll see if Warner ducks the "Fairfax debate." Gilmore probably should have had a debate with Marshall, but remember, the voting audience was a heck of a lot more limited (since it was a party convention and the voting audience knew the candidates well). In the case of Warner, the voting audience is the whole Commonwealth, so debates are much more worthy.

Carl, Thanks for the Buena Vista parade item. It gave me a smile.

Walks like a duck - afraid to debate on TV.
Talks like a duck - Warner would not commit to TV debates.
"Warner, who refused an invitation by the League of Women Voters to debate Gilmore on live, statewide television, would not commit today to a TV debate."

There is a big difference in primary debates. Heck, Gilmore had already debated Warner in the debate no one saw at the Homestead I think.
If the debate is not on TV or live streamed what is the use of it? No one cares what a reporter tells you about a debate. Let people watch for themselves.
Warner looks like a chickenshit to me because he will not debate to the whole state. Why is he afraid to take the stage in front of all of Virginia? This is not a primary, this is the real deal. Virginia voters deserve at least one statewide TV debate. Gilmore will be there.
