What in the Hell Happened in Augusta County?

This breaking report from the Misleader has this-

VERONA — The divisiveness that has characterized the Augusta County Republican party for more than a year came to a head Thursday night as two separate mass meetings produced two separate chairmen.

After temporary chairman Jim Bailey adjourned a three-hour meeting without calling for a motion and then left the room, former chairman Kurt Michael stepped to the front to start the entire meeting over.

“He cannot adjourn a meeting without adjourning it,” Michael said.
Divisiveness and shouting that at times bordered on chaos characterized the first meeting, which garnered 267 voters and hundreds more observers.
With no agenda, Bailey, who was nominated as temporary chair by a 148-115 vote, left several motions on the floor before moving to others. Several party members voiced their confusion with the direction of the meeting.
“People are seconding and thirding and fourthing all over the place, and people can not hear,” said Zanette Hahn.
One such motion that was never addressed was the adoption of new rules for the meeting after a majority vote suspended the rules adopted at a March 30 meeting.
After several requests to return to the motion were ignored, Wayne District’s Jason Bibeau asked that the party take action against Bailey.
“You do not appear to have organization or a handle on this meeting, and I vote for no confidence,” said Bibeau.
Bailey called Bibeau’s motion out of order and inappropriate, and, without addressing the issue of the rules’ adoption, Bailey soon moved on to candidate speeches. Read it All

A meeting with no agenda and apparently no rules. That sounds like a out of control situation to me. A commenter states -

"It is time to bring in the big guns in from the state Republican Party and investigate Hanger and his antics. It appears that an improper meeting was held and Hanger was leading the situation. A complete investigation needs to be conducted and those responsible for a clear example of political manipulation of cronyism should be removed from the party. I wonder how many of those that voted were Democrats? What say Mr. Hanger? Maybe we the people are tired of your antics and should begin a petition to begin your removal from office starting now."

Interesting comment. One thing I did notice is the math does not add up. Next, RULES OF ORDER MUST BE FOLLOWED. It is clear from this report they were not followed during the first meeting, but they were in the second. Where will this end? We await the RPV and John Hagar. Don't hold your breath.

The Philbilly has the scoop.
