Tom Davis can call his trip to SWVA a success
Davis earned some good press with his recent jaunt through SWVA. The overwhelmingly conservative area seemed to like what the more moderate Davis had to say. With Sen Warner retiring, Davis should mount a strong campaign as there are similarities in both their philosophies and style. Can Davis get the conservative vote? I guess that depends on who will run against him. As one article this week said-"Virginia could do far worse than Davis." I agree.
The Bristol Herald Courier ran this op-ed piece yesterday titled Tom Davis isn't a typical politician; he makes too much sense BY Andrea Hopkins, Opinion Editor. She concludes her article with:
"On subject after subject, Davis makes sense. That’s pretty rare in Washington."
I would think Ms Hopkins is a good person to have on your side.
