More on Duncan Hunter
In this USA Today article Duncan Hunter says he will build the border fence in 6 months if elected President. That is what I want to hear! Good Fences Make Good Neighbors.
John Hawkins has a in depth look at Hunter up at Townhall.Com. It is a great post with lots of links and history. Hawkins covers what I think is a key issue about Duncan Hunter. He does not support the NAFTA and CAFTA free trade agreements. This strays from the Republican policy but is resonates well with blue collar workers across the country. John writes:
"Although many Republicans will disagree with Hunter on this issue, many Democrats find themselves nodding their heads in agreement with what he has to say. In important electoral-vote-rich states like Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, Hunter's message will resonate with working class Democrats who might not otherwise vote Republican. That could be the crucial factor that swings an election in our favor in 2008."
Republicans would be wise to listen to what he is saying. Duncan Hunter is a different kind of Republican. I think he is exactly what is needed with the challenges facing America. Take time to read all of John's article here.
