Power Plant in Wise County??

Could it be? My sources are saying yes. A brand new power plant located in Wise county. Nothing is in writing yet, but this article from the Coalfield Progress gives us a hint.

"Meanwhile, several factors seem to point to the Virginia City area near St. Paul as an increasingly strong contender for the plant site - including plans to expand an industrial zone there to more than 270 acres."

270 acres is quite an expansion. Big enough for a power plant indeed. Is there enough water to feed this plant has been my question all along. A 500 mega watt plant will take in 8 million gallons of water a day. They say there is plenty of water to feed the plant from old mines. In fact, water could be used and recirculated back into the mines to cool then used again. That is great news! The site is near Rt 58 and railways. I really think we got this thing. The plant would burn 2 million tons of coal a year and create 250 mining jobs. Lets factor in the construction and plant crews, tax revenues, oh my! I hope my sources are right about this.
