Round Up

Here is a short round up of things that interest me.

Ex-Gate City mayor found not guilty of two counts of election fraud. It looks like all those lefty bloggers were wrong in this part of the case. We all read the attacks on Charles Dougherty Jr and the so far still not indicted Scott County registrar. Lets see how many pundits apologize for trying this case in the blogosphere. Charles Dougherty Jr still faces 18 counts of violating absentee voting procedures and 17 counts of making false statements.

Bearing Drift has discovered Bud Phillips. Welcome to my world JR!(More on that below) TC has this on the subject. They also had a great live blog with chairman of the House Transportation Committee Del. Leo Wardrup. This is good stuff. OMT has a couple post's up about the call.

I agree with Will on the Kaine pennies a day plan. Will the roads get better? No promises. Will the taxes go up? Indeed.

Jerry has some more thoughts on the census reports I linked. Dickenson County is in bad shape. That is the above mentioned Bud Phillips district. I can see why Bud hates to increase taxes on Dickenson County residents. Bud has held office for many years and the county has reaped the rewards. Maybe they can build another museum? A hiking trail maybe? I have said it before and I will continue saying it. It is time for a change! Getting Bud out of office is part of that change. A wise man told me one time that it is insane to keep doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result. Voters there need to accept that.
