Wise County lost a friend Saturday. Jim Baker was the announcer on WNVA for 40 years. He was known as the voice of Wise County. His body was found in a local lake and no foul play was suspected. His obituary is here. I listened to him for years and I will miss his voice on the radio. You get used to that in a small town. Rest in peace Mr. Baker. You will be missed.
