Blogging in China - Zhao Jing
The WAPO has a informative article about blogging up. It is about a Chinese blogger named Zhao Jing. He blogged about politics and was shut down. The way I understand this, the government would shutdown whatever service that hosted his blog. He moved to Microsofts My Space and guess what?
Four and a half months after he began posting essays challenging the Communist Party's taboo against discussing politics, Zhao published an item protesting the purge of a popular newspaper's top editors. Officials called Microsoft to complain, and Microsoft quickly erased his blog.
I know this story has been around for a while, but this guy Jing's story is interesting. It made me think: "How long would I last there?" We are lucky here to blog about our government freely.
