Social Security

Why are the Democrats ignoring Social Security. There is a problem and it is not hard to do the math. President Bush said during his state of the union address that he was open to all ideas. The Democrats refuse to address the problem. If we all agree that the system is under funded and will bottom out in the future, whether it be 30 years or 70, why not start the repair now. The democrats are first to complain that the war is costing this amount and that amount "our children will have to pay"..yet they will not sit at the table on this issue. Could it be that they have no answers? No plan? Just say no to Bush? If they cannot address this issue, we will never get Medicare on track as it is a more complicated fix. The private S.S. accounts are as "Progressive" an idea that I have heard.
