My Response

My name is Kilo.  I was born and raised in the high Mountains of Virginia in a tiny town called Wise. My dad was a hard rock miner. My mom took in wash. I grew up around people of strong values, even if they rarely talked about them. They loved their country, worshiped God, never shunned hard work and never asked for special favors.

A few weeks ago, I joined some friends of mine for a bite to eat at Hardees, Wise’s only restaurant. We were sitting down in a booth when a young boy, about 10 years old, named Devon, walked up to us.

Carrying a skateboard under his arm, he said, “KILO, when I grow up, I want to be just like you.' ……… Well, the truth is Devon could probably do a lot better. But the point still holds, and it's this: No one ever had to tell young Devon to dream big dreams. No one ever had to teach him that America is a place of possibility. He knows those things because they're borne deep in all Americans.

What??????? Someone told him. We learn the dream, but what was the point of this page long rant? I was amazed at this. What a Crock and a waste of time. Reid should have stayed at home. Now on to  Nancy Pelosi.

  • We have never heard a clear plan from this administration for ending our presence in Iraq. And we did not hear one tonight.”

Yes we did, you missed it because you were outlining Reids wonderful response. She spoke of three things, That WE ARE Already DOING.

Then this

  • “The greatest threat to our homeland security are the tons of biological, chemical and even nuclear materials that are unaccounted for or unguarded.”

Unguarded where? What weapons? There were no weapons in Iraq? Right? Wrong? HUH?

This was the worst response I have ever witnessed. No answers, no plans, just Bush wrong and we don't have a clue as how to do anything. No..blah..No..blah….The Democratic party has hit rock bottom. Tonight it showed big time. A good example was the SS issue. No democratic support. Then Bush reminds us that some very important people, including Clinton and other dems had addressed the issue….If there is not a problem, why did Clinton want to increase the retirement age? OHH…guess we better stand and clap now.
