The NASCAR Season So Far...
Four races in and the series taking a week off before hitting the high banks at Bristol finds my boy Jeff Burton struggling. A couple things I have noticed this season is Kyle Bush is the real deal and Jeff Gordon is focused.
The down side is the first four races have failed to excite me. hell, the truck races are the best show going this year. The Sprint Series races have been cut short by rain or just boring. Like today at Atlanta, idiots chasing a runaway tire caused a caution that put most of the field a lap down. Good running cars were three laps down by the half way mark. It reminded me of racing in the early 70's.
The economy combined with lack luster racing has left many seats empty. You can still get Bristol tickets at the box office for the next race. That has not happened in 20 years. So if you want to catch a race at Bristol this year offers you that chance.
Finally, my fantasy racing league has me sitting in 2nd place, 12 points behind the leader Fisherville Mike. 280 points separate first and last place for The Spark it Up Cup. I am hoping Bristol will spark up the season for me!
