Huckabee on being McCain's VP - In his own words.
Mike Huckabee tells Newsmax he has no idea where U.S. News & World Report got its information that he's at the top of the list of John McCain's possible running mates. Hear his response to the question, "Would he accept?" He says McCain needs to give some "straight talk" to conservatives to ease their fears. About climate change, he says it's a two-sided issue. He also expresses sympathy for Barack Obama with the Rev. Wright controversy.
It is a good interview so check it out. Some will like it, some wont. I just don't think McCain will pick Huckabee. I think there are just too many issues they differ on. Stem cells, global warming, etc.
I am still amazed McCain is the GOP nominee. It shows the GOP is changing. Changing for the good? That is another question. If the party had to change, I prefer Huckabee over McCain. Adding Huck to the ticket will give McCain some of the strongest grassroot support I have ever witnessed. On the other hand, it could cost him some of his centrist support. But is there anyone really excited about McCain? It falls flat for me.
