Two Virginias
I posted here how the republicans in the Coalfields went against state trends and supported Mike Huckabee over John McCain by a large margin.
My friend over in Clintwood, Brian Patton, reports how the democrats did the same thing by supporting Hillary over Obama by a huge margin. Dickenson County voted Clinton by 85%. In Wise Co she got 81%. Scott Co went 80% for Hillary. Russell Co reports 84% while Lee Co has her with 85%. Old Buchanan Co gives Clinton 90% of the vote.
Two Virginias Indeed. It is evident in both parties that we are different in our views here in SWVA.
(Disclaimer~Brian Patton is a Democrat and a Kevin Harvick fan. The Democrat thing is acceptable and can be blamed on youth and breathing coal dust. The Harvick thing cant be explained and is unacceptable.)
