Useful Information?

The Bristol Herald Courier has compiled a online database -

For the past year, this newspaper has gathered salary information of local government employees from around this region.(LINK)

Now with a click or two here you can find salary information on County, City, Town, or School System employees. The database includes salaries from 65 towns, cities, counties and school systems in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.

I have a friend that works for the school system in Wise. I put his name in the search box and bang, there is his salary. Useful? I guess. The BHC is sure proud of it as they have dedicated several articles on the subject. I do think the info is is useful. We can easily see that the top paid teacher in Wise County made $64,718.00 compared to neighboring Dickenson County's top earner that received  $55,703.00.
