Blogs United in Hampton Roads - Winners and Losers
I know that at last years event everyone was invited, from Tim Kaine to George Allen. If your favorite party lacks what you feel is equal representation, take it up with them. Not enough Democrats there for you? It is not because they were not invited. Not enough Republicans there? It is not because they were not invited.
The partisan blogger Phriendly Jaime writes "The following bloggers are very lucky people." She is correct. Those attending are lucky. Lt. Gov. Bolling, Attorney General McDonnell, Delegate Brian Moran, Delegates Bob Brink, Kris Amundson, , Danae Jones, and Sen. Creigh Deeds are all giving us their time and respect by attending.
Is anyone really surprised JC Wilemore and Lowell will not attend? I'm not. They enjoy the comfort that the keyboard provides. They both could attend and discuss their political views face to face with other bloggers in the great social atmosphere provided. Just like Brian Patton, Joe Stanley, Paul Anderson, and Josh did last year. I think all of those guys had a great time trading punches with Chris, Kat, Alton, Jerry, and myself. While minds and political views may not have been changed, a basic understanding of who each of us are was achieved. Understanding is there for those who seek it.
You are so right Jaime, we are lucky. Those attending are the winners. It is a shame everyone doesn't understand that.
