Staff Sgt. Daniel L. Paxton
Staff Sgt. Daniel L. Paxton will receive the Air Force Combat Action Medal for his actions when his convoy was attacked in Iraq.I should have some pictures of this when they return.
On March 28, 2003, Paxton’s mission involved establishing tactical medical units along the Kuwait-Iraq border, according to an Air Force news release.
He was part of a convoy that came under enemy fire half a dozen times from mortars, rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and small arms.
Paxton successfully engaged the enemy, defended himself and the convoy, according to the release.(LINK)
