We better take notice...
China recently launched a missile to take out a old weather satellite. Presidential candidate Duncan Hunter had this to say.
"China's recent test of an anti-satellite missile represents the commencement of a new era of military competition in space," said Hunter. "American war fighting capability relies heavily on U.S. space assets and we must take whatever steps necessary to ensure our forces cannot be targeted through an adversarial space strike."
Duncan Hunter seems to be one of the few to see China as a huge threat militarily and economically. If you recall, Jim Webb referenced China many times in his campaign. Hunter said "we must take steps to "ensure our forces cannot be targeted through an adversarial space strike."
Indeed. many people including myself laughed in years past at the notion of star wars. Times have changed my friends and we better take notice.
