We have all been hearing the news about Ford Motor and their sales slump but I have to say that this company is putting some of their money to a great cause that we all need to get behind, Warriors In Pink. At Spark It Up HQ we are acutely aware of the effects of cancer and the warrior attitude that must be put forward to beat it. Ford is putting some of their valuable dollars up to help fight cancer- breast cancer in this case. Ford Division is proud to be celebrating its 12th year as a National Series Sponsor of the Susan G. Karmen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure®. To date, Ford has dedicated more than $87 million to the Foundation in donations and in-kind gifts. This is only a small part of Ford Division's initiative in the fight against breast cancer.

In more ways than one, Ford is truly committed to the awareness and eradication of Breast Cancer. Ford Division encourages the involvement of our employees in the Komen Race for the Cure® and more than 50,000 Ford employees have run or walked in Races across the country as proud torchbearers of Ford's commitment to the cause. Moreover, thousands of Ford dealers across the nation have gotten involved by participating in the Komen Race for the Cure® at their local Race sites.

I have heard the arguement about breast cancer getting all the money and while there is merit to this, lets face it, research is research. The money might come in earmarked for breast cancer research but I promise you those technicians are looking for ways to beat cancer- plain and simple. Who knows, perhaps some of the treatments Kilo has been undergoing may have originally been discovered while researching a cure for breast cancer.
