Football and Canus Dongo Agitatus
While watching football and discussing my recent posts about Lowell Feld today with the Spark it Up HQ gang I was reminded of the old saying: Dog Pecker Gnats. Some folks say Dog Peter Gnats or you can get real proper and say Canus Dongo Agitatus. I received a email a couple months ago with a link to this story. I checked and it still works! It made me laugh and I hope you will also. Here is a small excerpt
"For instance, are dog-peter gnat flight patterns reversed in the southern hemisphere? What else do dog-peter gnats do besides circle dog peters? If all dogs disappeared from the earth, would such gnats no longer have any reason to be? Do they have any other function besides orbiting dog peters? Could the flight patterns of dog-peter gnats be responsible for Ptolemy's geo-centric theory, or, even better, for Copernicus' Revolution? And the questions go on.
It was the first time the Packers were shut out since a 10-0 victory by the Bears on Oct. 17, 1991 -- a streak of 233 games. It was the fourth-longest such streak in league history and second-longest active streak. The Minnesota Vikings have not been shut out in 236 games.
