Spank That Donkey-Jim Webb's Strategic Flaws
I agree with this. STD proceeds to take Webb's views on Iraq apart.
What of Webb's statement here that we have "bogged down a huge percentage of our military in a region that never has known peace"? Webb's philosophy is seriously flawed here. It is undeniable that placing our Armed Forces in Iraq has created a "magnet" for terrorists to do what? Mobilize and attack our Armed Forces there, and not unarmed civilians here in the United States!
Indeed. Webb says we are bogged down yet has never explained how or what our military should be doing other than what they are doing now. The Bush plan is stay the course until there are enough Iraqi's trained to protect law and order in their country. Jim Webb said he is against time lines (that could change any minute) but we need to get out as soon as possible. What does that mean? Pullout now? Next month? Next year? Or when Iraq can stand on its own. I don't think Webb has a plan any different than the one we have now. If he did it would be headline material. So far his offerings are vague at best. But he did write a article back in.....
