I got a good laugh this morning watching the Chris Mathews show. It seems making fun of Tim Kaine is not just a Virginia thing, but a national thing. Bearing Drift was watching also and they have the clip up over there.
Alton takes issue with a Roanoke Times article about immigration. Alton is right on target! The argument has always been that illegals do jobs others wont do. Alton puts this in no uncertain terms saying:
If I had no driver's license and drove from Collinsville into Roanoke, I would be an "undocumented" driver. That could be a major advantage to the citizens of Roanoke. I could drive your bus or taxi at a greatly reduced wage because my employer would have that "undocumented" sword to hold over me. Would that then make it OK? Why then, do you make that claim about other forms of undocumented workers?
Indeed!!!
I am reading the WAPO's blog The Fix by Chris Cillizza. I would encourage you to also. A good report on lobbyist's and why the democrats don't want a bipartisan task force to develop compromise reform legislation. Another good post about 2008 fund raising. It says George Allen has almost raised double what Mark Warner has so far. Good stuff to read before the big game!
